3D sensor calibration message

Three-dimensional sensor calibration messages hold the calibration used to convert the raw readings of three-axis sensors (accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer) into physical units.

Fields

  • timestampDateTimes

Moment the message refers to, in UTC. FIT stores it as seconds since the FIT epoch (December 31, 1989, 00:00:00 UTC); decoders usually expose it as a regular date.

  • Sensor the calibration applies to: accelerometer, gyroscope, compass (magnetometer) or barometer.

    4 possible values
    • accelerometer
    • barometer
    • gyroscope
    • compass
  • Factor used to convert raw ADC readings to physical units (g, degrees per second…).

  • Calibration factor of the accelerometer.

  • gyroCalFactorUint32deg/s

    Calibration factor of the gyroscope.

  • calibrationDivisorUint32counts

    Divisor applied together with calibrationFactor.

  • Value subtracted from the raw readings to bring them back around zero before applying the calibration.

  • offsetCalSint32[]

Internal calibration offsets, one per axis.

  • Rotation matrix (3 × 3, row major) aligning the sensor axes with the device axes.

  • mesgNumString

Global message number identifying the kind of message. Decoders use it to know which profile to apply to the data.
